Hadith 1668 - Bab 303 (Prohibition of Consultation with Soothsayers)
Chapter 18 (The Book of the Prohibited actions)

'Aishah (May Allah be pleased with her) said: Some people asked the Messenger of Allah (Peace be upon him) about soothsayers. He (Peace be upon him) said, "They are of no account." Upon this they said to him, "O Messenger of Allah! But they sometimes make true predictions." Thereupon the Messenger of Allah (Peace be upon him) said, "That is a word pertaining to truth which a jinn snatches (from the angels) and whispers into the ears of his friend (the soothsayers) who will then mix more than a hundred lies with it."

[Al-Bukhari and Muslim].

The narration in Al-Bukhari is: "The angels descend in the clouds and mention matters which has been decreed in heaven; Satan steals a hearing (listens to it stealthily) and communicates it to the soothsayers who tell along with it a hundred lies."

"Âisha (das) rapporte: «Des gens interrogèrent le Messager de Dieu (bsdl) sur les devins. Il dit: «Ce ne sont rien». Ils dirent: «O Messager de Dieu! Ils nous annoncent parfois des choses qui se vérifient par la suite». Le Messager de Dieu (bsdl) dit: «II s"agit là d"une parole de vérité que le génie saisit au vol et verse dans l"oreille de son protégé. Ainsi ils mêlent un mot de vérité à cent mensonges» (ura)

Narrated Safiyyah, daughter of Abu 'Ubaid, on the authority of some of the wives of the Prophet (Peace be upon him) who said, "He who goes to one who claims to tell about matters of the Unseen and believes in him, his Salat (prayers) will not be accepted for forty days."

Safîya Bent "Oubeyd dit que certaines épouses du Prophète (bsdl) ont rapporté ces paroles du Prophète (bsdl): «Celui qui s"adresse à un mage pour l"interroger sur quelque chose et croit à ce qu"il lui dit, sa prière lui est rejetée au visage durant quarante jours». (Rapporté par Moslem)

Qabisah bin Al-Mukhariq (May Allah be pleased with him) said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (Peace be upon him) saying, "The practice of 'Iyafah, the interpretation of omens from the flight of birds, the practice of divination by drawing lines on the ground and taking evil omens are all practices of Al-Jibt (the idol, the diviner, or sorcerer)."

[Abu Dawud].

Qabisa Ibn Al Moukhàriq (das) a dit: «J"ai entendu le Messager de Dieu (bsdl) dire: «L"interprétation des signes, l"augure et le présage sont des actes de sorcellerie d"idolâtres». (Rapporté par Abou Dawûd)

Ibn 'Abbas (May Allah be pleased with them) said: The Messenger of Allah (Peace be upon him) said, "He who acquires a branch of the knowledge of astrology, learns a branch of magic (of which he acquires more as long as) he continues to do so."

[Abu Dawud].

Selon Ibn "Abbàs (das), le Messager de Dieu (bsdl) a dit: «Celui qui a tiré quelque connaissance de l"astrologie a emprunté l"une des voies de la sorcellerie. Plus il pratique l"astrologie et plus il s"apparente aux sorciers». (Rapporté par Abou Dawûd)

Mu'awiyah bin Al-Hakam (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: I said: "O Messenger of Allah, I have recently emerged from ignorance and Allah has favoured me with Islam. There are still some men among us who visit the soothsayers to consult them (on matters relating to the future)." He (Peace be upon him) replied, "Do not visit them." I said: "There are some men who are guided by omens." He replied, "These are the ideas which come up in their minds but you should not be influenced by them (i.e., these things) should not prevent them from pursuing their works." I said: "There are some men who practise divination by drawing lines on the ground." The Messenger of Allah (Peace be upon him) replied, "There was a Prophet who drew lines, the line which agrees with the line drawn by that Prophet would be correct."

[Muslim].

Mou"àwiya Ibn Al Hakam (das) a dit: «J"ai dit: «O Messager de Dieu! Je sors à peine de l"obscurantisme préislamique et Dieu le Très-Haut nous a apporté l"Islam. Or il y a parmi nous des hommes qui s"adressent aux devins». Il lui dit: «Ne fais pas comme eux». Je dis: «II y a parmi nous des gens qui croient à l"augure». Il dit: «C"est une simple sensation qu"ils éprouvent en eux-mêmes. Que cela ne les détourne pas de ce qu"ils avaient décidé de faire». Je dis : «II y.a parmi nous des hommes qui font des traits sur le sable»_Il dit: «II y avait un prophète (Idris ou Henoch) qui le faisait  Celui qui trace selon ses règles atteint la vérité». Abu Mas'ud Al-Badri (May Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (Peace be upon him) prohibited the price of a dog, the earning of an prostitute, and the money given to a soothsayer.

Selon Abou Mas"ùd Al Badri (das), le Messager de Dieu (bsdl) a interdit le prix de vente du chien, la dot (le salaire) de la prostituée et le salaire du devin. (ura)
