Hadith 1655 - Bab 301 (Prohibition of putting oneself to Undue Hardship)
Chapter 18 (The Book of the Prohibited actions)

'Umar (May Allah be pleased with him) said: We have been forbidden to go into excess.

[Al-Bukhari].

Ibn "Omar (das) a dit: «On nous a interdit toute affectation». (Rapporté par Al Boukhàri)

: : هذه القراءةُ حاسوبية، وما زالت قيدُ الضبطِ والتطوير،    1656 وعنْ مسْرُوق قَال: دخَلْنَا على عبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مسْعُودٍ رضي اللَّه عنُهُ فَقَال: يا أَيُّهَا النَّاس منْ عَلِم شَيئاً فَلْيقُلْ بهِ، ومنْ لَمْ يعْلَمْ، فلْيقُلْ: اللَّه أعْلَمُ، فإنَّ مِنَ الْعِلْمِ أن تَقُولَ لِمَا لا تَعْلَمُ: اللَّه أعْلَمُ. قَال اللَّه تَعالى لِنَبيِّهِ صَلّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّم: { قلْ مَا أسأْلُكُمْ عَليْهِ مِنْ أجْرٍ وَمَا أَنَا مِنَ المُتَكَلِّفِين} رواهُ البخاري.

Chapter 18 (The Book of the Prohibited actions)

Masruq (May Allah be pleased with him) said: We visited 'Abdullah bin Mas'ud (May Allah be pleased with him) and he said to us: O people! He who has the knowledge of any matter may convey it to the others. And he who has no knowledge, thereof, should say: "Allahu a'lam (Allah knows better)." It is a part and parcel of knowledge that a man who has no knowledge of a matter should say: "Allah knows better." Allah said to His Prophet (Peace be upon him):

"Say (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)): 'No wage do I ask of you for this (the Qur'an), nor am I one of the Mutakallifun (those who pretend and fabricate things which do not exist)."' (38:86)

Masrùq a dit: «Nous entrâmes une fois chez Ibn Mas"ùd (das) qui nous dit: «O gens! Quand l"un de vous sait quelque chose qu"il en parle et, quand il ne la sait pas, qu"il dise: «Dieu sait mieux que tous». Car c"est déjà une marque de science que de dire à propos de ce qu"on ignore: «Dieu sait mieux que tous». Dieu le Très-Haut a fait dire à Son Prophète (bsdl): «Je ne vous en demande aucun salaire et je ne fais rien par simple affectation». (Rapporté par Al Boukhàri)
