Hadith 1550 - Bab 263 (Prohibition of Giving False Testimony)
Chapter 18 (The Book of the Prohibited actions)

Abu Bakrah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (Peace be upon him) said, "Shall I not inform you of one of the gravest of the cardinal sins?" We said: "Yes, O Messenger of Allah!" He (Peace be upon him) said, "To join others as partners with Allah in worship and to be undutiful to one's parents." The Messenger of Allah (Peace be upon him) sat up from his reclining position (in order to stress the importance of what he was going to say) and added, "I warn you making a false statement and giving a false testimony. I warn you against making a false statement and giving a false testimony." The Messenger of Allah (Peace be upon him) kept on repeating this (warning) till we wished he should stop.

Selon Abou Bakra (das), le Messager de Dieu (bsdl) a dit: «Voulez-vous que je vous dise quel est le plus grand péché?» Nous dîmes: «Nous voulons bien, ô Messager de Dieu!» Il dit: «Le fait d"associer quoi que ce soit à Dieu. Le manque de piété filiale...» Il était appuyé sur quelque chose et il se redressa pour dire: «... et surtout le parler mensonger et le faux témoignage». Il ne cessa pas de le répéter au point que nous dîmes: «II aurait été préférable qu"il gardât le silence». (URA)
