Hadith 712 - Bab 96 (Bidding Farewell and Advising on the Eve of Departure for a Journey or other Things)
Chapter 2 (The Book of Good Manners)

Yazid bin Haiyan (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: I went along with Husain bin Sabrah and 'Amr bin Muslim to Zaid bin Arqam (May Allah be pleased with them) and, as we sat by his side, Husain said to him: "O Zaid, you acquired great merits that you saw Messenger of Allah (Peace be upon him), listened to his talk, fought by his side in (different) battles, and offered Salat behind him. You have in fact earned great merits, Zaid! Could you then tell us what you heard from the Messenger of Allah (Peace be upon him)?" He said: "O my cousin! By Allah! I have grown old and have almost spent up my age and I have forgotten some of the things which I remembered in connection with Messenger of Allah (Peace be upon him), so accept what I narrate to you, and what I fail to narrate, do not compel me to narrate that." He then said: "One day Messenger of Allah (Peace be upon him) stood up to deliver a Khutbah at a watering place known as Khumm between Makkah and Al-Madinah. He praised Allah, extolled Him and delivered the Khutbah and exhorted (us) and said, 'Amma Ba'du (now then)! O people, certainly I am a human being. I am about to receive a messenger (the angel of death) from my Rubb and I, in response to Allah's Call, but I am leaving among you two weighty things: the Book of Allah in which there is right guidance and light, so hold fast to the Book of Allah and adhere to it.' He exhorted (us) (to hold fast) to the Book of Allah and then said, 'The second are the members of my household, I remind you (of your duties) to the members of my family."'

Parmi les Hadiths il y a celui de Zeyd Ibn Arqam (das) déjà rapporté au chapitre 43 (n° 346) : «Le Messager de Dieu (bsdl) se leva parmi nous pour nous faire un discours. Il prononça d"abord la louange et la glorification de Dieu, puis il nous fit une leçon de morale, nous rappela nos obligations et dit enfin: «Or donc, attention ô gens! Je ne suis qu"un être humain et le Messager de mon Dieu (l"ange de la mort) n"est pas loin de venir m"appeler et moi d"y répondre. Je laisse après moi parmi vous deux choses de grand poids: D"abord le Livre de Dieu contenant la bonne direction et la lumière. Pratiquez ses enseignements et accrochez-vous à lui». Il exhorta les gens à respecter les enseignements du Livre de Dieu et les poussa à l"aimer. Puis il dit: «Puis les membres de ma famille. Je vous rappelle Dieu pour tout ce qui concerne les membres de ma famille». (Rapporté par Moslem)

Malik bin Al-Huwairith (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: We came to the Messenger of Allah (Peace be upon him) when we were all young men of nearly equal age. We stayed with him for twenty days. He was extremely kind and considerate. He perceived that we missed our families so he asked us about those we left behind, and we informed him. Then he (Peace be upon him) said, "Go back to your families, stay with them, teach them (about Islam) and exhort them to do good. Perform such Salat (prayer) at such a time and such Salat at such a time. When the time for Salat is due, one of you should announce Adhan (call for prayer) and the oldest among you should lead Salat."

[Al-Bukhari and Muslim].

Màlek Ibn Al Houwayreth rapporte: «Nous vînmes au Messager de Dieu (bsdl) alors que nous étions des jeunes à peu près du même âge. Nous demeurâmes chez lui vingt nuits. Le Messager de Dieu (bsdl) était très clément et très doux. Il pensa que nous avions envie de revoir les nôtres. Il nous interrogea sur les membres de notre famille que nous avions quittés. Nous le renseignâmes là-dessus. Il dit: «Retournez aux vôtres, installez-vous parmi eux, enseignez-leur (la religion) et donnez-leur des ordres. Faites telle prière à telle heure et telle autre prière à telle autre heure. Quand vient l"heure de la prière, que l"un de vous lance l"appel à la prière et que ce soit le plus âgé d"entre vous à la diriger».

'Umar bin Al-Khattab (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: I sought permission of the Prophet (Peace be upon him) to perform 'Umrah, and he granted me leave and said, "Brother, do not forget us in your supplications." I would not exchange these words of his for the whole world.

Another narration is: He (Peace be upon him) said, "Include us, my brother, in your supplications."

[Abu Dawud and At- Tirmidhi].

"Omar Ibn Al Khattàb (das) rapporte: «J"ai demandé au Prophète (bsdl) la permission d"aller faire le petit pèlerinage ("Omra). Il me l"accorda et dit: «O petit frère! Ne nous oublie pas dans tes prières!». "Omar disait: «Ce fut pour moi un mot que je ne serais pas heureux d"échanger contre tout ce bas-monde».

Salim bin 'Abdullah bin 'Umar (May Allah be pleased with them) reported: When a man was to set out on a journey, 'Abdullah bin 'Umar (May Allah be pleased with them) would say to him: "Draw near so that I may bid farewell to you as Messenger of Allah (Peace be upon him) used to bid farewell to us. (The Messenger of Allah (Peace be upon him) used to say: "'Astaudi'ullaha dinaka, wa amanataka, wa khawatima 'amalika' (I entrust Allah with your Deen, your trust and your last deeds)."

[At-Tirmidhi].

Selon Sàlem Ibn "Abdullàh Ibn "Omar (das), "Abdullâh Ibn "Omar (das), quand il voulait partir en voyage, disait à l"un de nous: «Approche-toi de moi que je te fasse mes adieux comme le faisait avec nous le Messager de Dieu (bsdl). Il disait: «Je confie à Dieu ta religion, ton respect du dépôt ainsi que les conclusions de ton œuvre». (Rapporté par Attirmidhi)

'Abdullah bin Yazid Al-Khatmi (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: When Messenger of Allah (Peace be upon him) intended to bid farewell to his army he would say: "Astau-di'ullaha dinakaum, wa amanatakum, wa khawatima 'amalikum (I entrust Allah with your Deen, your trust and your last deeds)."

[Abu Dawud].

"Abdullàh Ibn Yazid Al Khatmi (das), le compagnon du Prophète (bsdl), a dit: «Le Messager de Dieu (bsdl), quand il voulait faire ses adieux aux armées, leur disait: «Je confie à Dieu votre religion, votre respect du dépôt et les conclusions de votre œuvre».

Anas (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: A man came to the Prophet (Peace be upon him) and said: "O Messenger of Allah! I intend to go on a journey, so supplicate for me." He (Peace be upon him) said, "May Allah grant you the provision of piety." The man said: "Please supplicate more for me." He (Peace be upon him) said, "May He forgive your sins!" The man repeated: "Please supplicate more for me." Messenger of Allah (Peace be upon him) said, "May He facilitate for you the doing of good wherever you are."

[At-Tirmidhi].

Anas (das) rapporte: «Un homme vint dire au Prophète (bsdl): «O Messager de Dieu! Je pense faire un voyage. Donne-moi mes provisions de route (il voulait dire «tes bénédictions pour mon voyage»)». Il lui dit: «Que Dieu te donne la piété comme viatique». L"autre dit: «Ajoute-moi-s"en encore!» Il dit: «Puisse-t-il t"absoudre de tes péchés!» Il dit: «Ajoute-moi-s"en encore!» Il dit : «Puisse-t-Il te faciliter le bien là où tu le trouves!».
