Chapter 2 (The Book of Good Manners)

Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: I heard the Messenger of Allah (Peace be upon him) saying, "When the Iqamah are pronounced, do not come to it running, you should walk calmly with tranquillity to join the congregation. Then join in what you catch for and complete what you miss."

[Al-Bukhari and Muslim].

In Muslim it is added: Messenger of Allah (Peace be upon him) said, "For when one of you is walking for Salat, he is, in fact, engaged in Salat."

Abou Hourayra (das) rapporte: «J"ai entendu dire le Messager de Dieu (bsdl): «Quand on a lancé le dernier appel à la prière, n"y allez pas en vous pressant, mais en marchant normalement et d"une façon posée. Faites alors avec les autres ce que vous avez pu rattraper de la prière et complétez tous seuls le reste».

Ibn 'Abbas (May Allah be pleased with them) reported: I accompanied the Prophet (Peace be upon him) while we were returning from 'Arafat. Messenger of Allah (Peace be upon him) heard behind him a loud noise of beating and of driving the camels forcibly. He pointed towards it with his whip and said, "O people! Proceed calmly. No virtue lies in rushing."

Ibn "Abbàs (das) s"est avancé avec le Prophète (bsdl) le jour de "Arafat (le rassemblement obligatoirement des pèlerins sur le mont "Arafat). Le Prophète (bsdl) entendit derrière lui des gens faisant accélérer leurs chameaux à force de coups et de cris. Il leur fit signe de son bâton et leur dit: «La recherche de la satisfaction de Dieu n"implique nullement la précipitation». (Rapporté par Moslem et Al Boukhâri)
