Hadith 919 - Bab 151 (Supplication to be made soon after a Person's Death)
Chapter 7 (The Book of Visiting the Sick)

Umm Salamah (May Allah be pleased with her) reported: The Messenger of Allah (Peace be upon him) visited Abu Salamah (May Allah be pleased with him) when his eyes were open soon after he died. He closed them (the eyes) for him and said, "When the soul is taken away, the sight follows it." Some members of his family began to weep. He (Peace be upon him) said: "Do not supplicate for yourselves anything but good, for the angels say 'amin' to what you say." Then he said, "O Allah! Forgive Abu Salamah, raise his rank among those who are rightly-guided and grant him a successor from his descendants who remain behind. Grant him pardon and us, too. O Rubb of the worlds. Make his grave spacious for him and give him light in it."

Oummou Salama (das) rapporte: «Le Messager de Dieu (bsdl) entra auprès de Abou Salama alors que son regard était devenu fixe (hagard). Il lui ferma les yeux en disant: «Quand l"âme a été retirée du corps, le regard la suit». Une rumeur s"éleva alors parmi certains membres de sa famille. Il leur dit: «N"invoquez sur vous que du bien car les Anges disent «Amen» à chacune de vos invocations». Puis il ajouta: «Seigneur Dieu! Absous Abou Salama, élève son degré parmi les biens-guides - donne-lui un successeur dans sa suite qui doit elle-même disparaître à son tour - absous-nous et absous-le, ô Seigneur et Maître des univers! Elargis pour lui sa tombe et inonde-la de lumière!». (Rapporté par Moslem)
